New York Comic Con 2007, Jacob Javits Center.

Part of the line, anyway. Starts at W.40th, near 12th Ave. Runs along W.40th to 11th Ave., then down 11th Ave. to W.34th, then along W.34th back towards 12th Ave., down a ramp, under the street parallel to W.34th back along towards 11th Ave., around the corner, and in the door -- to another line. Did I mention it's 20 degrees out?

Once inside and properly wristbanded, I hightail it to the Battlestar Galactica panel, already in progress.

l to r: Adam Stotsky (marketing suit, Sci-Fi Channel), Tricia Helfer, James Callis.

James Callis.

Surprise! The panel is moderated by Kevin Smith.

The lovely Kathleen.

Wonder Woman meets Soundwave. When does that EVER happen?

Jimmy with the multi-talented (and very nice) Greg Pak.

Joe and Jimmy, kings of the charity raffle.

Cassaday.

The raffles are quite popular. And do I see...?

Yep, there he is. Fresh from his appearance on the pages of Variety, it's the return of (the mack) Unemployed Skeletor! (And special guest, Eileen!)

Watch for his interview with Eli Roth (!!!) on MTV sometime soon. Also be on the lookout for Unemployed Skeletor : the movie!

A veritable DDR-army (a "DDRmy"?).

Some karaoke-themed game.

A room for Wii...

...and "Guitar Hero", be-yotch!

Vic Mignogna, among whose literally eight thousand voice-acting roles is Edward Elric in the English dub of Full Metal Alchemist.

The Venture Bros. panel is definitely one of the highlights of the day.

l to r: Steven Rattazzi (Dr. Orpheus); Michael Sinterniklaas (Dean Venture); Jackson Publick, a.k.a. Christopher McCulloch (Hank Venture, The Monarch, Henchman 24, etc.); Doc Hammer (Dr. Girlfriend, Henchman 21, etc.); James Urbaniak (Dr. Venture, The Phantom Limb, David Bowie, etc.)

Michael Sinterniklaas (and some guy's creepy bald spot).

Doc Hammer, who curiously enough does not do the voice of Mr. White, though he DOES do the voice of Master Billy Quizboy.

Jackson Publick.

A crazy-fun (and exhausting) time was had by costumed dogs and headless owners alike.

New York Comic Con 2008 will be held next April, at which we point we will hopefully not have to worry about 20 degree weather.

I was in line for the Buffy folks for so long that I totally forgot about the Venture Bros panel! I was so pissed when I remembered. Damn, damn, damn, damn. So what did they talk about?

Eileen - it was pretty random. Season 3 coming Spring(?) '08. Season 2 dvds in April, but everyone already knew that. The highlight most probably the 11 year-old kid asking about the "Are You There God? It's Me, Dean" episode, asking whether the episode was really paid for by the Scrotal Safety Commission (it wasn't; said Commission does not exist -- they wish it did, but sadly it does not), and inquiring as to the current health of Doc Hammer's testicles (they're fine). An 11 year-old kid saying "testicles". Is there anything funnier than that?

3:37 - You're welcome! Go to bed!
