James asks me to take a picture of the Christopher Walken-Rex sitting in that little parklet at Houston & 2nd Ave. for him. I'm not really sure what the deal is with this thing, other than that it had something to do with the release of the Humans of New York book, which just happened the other week.

The sign explains it. Sort of.

Just look at this thing.

and H2Awesome!

You may have already heard, but Scarlett and Conn got engaged over the weekend.

Scarlett knew that there was some sort of silly impromptu video with friends planned, but she had no idea that Conn or her father were going to be there. I was recruited as part of the distraction crew - our job was to make sure that she was at X location at Y time, and to keep her busy until everything was set. Luckily, this meant that I was in a primo place to take some photos of the whole thing. Here's how it went down.

Artist and friend Leanne Hannah even made a poster.

Emily made one, too.

Congratulations, guys.

New York Comic Con 2013, day three.

"50 Years of Doctor Who" panel, with Colin Baker.

Rey, with Rage Studios, back in Artist Alley.

Jude.

Eric G. (with shawarma?)

Kyle Stevens (of Kirby Krackle), Mr. Phil (of Indie Spinner Rack), and Charlie (of H2Awesome!)

Frank and Izzy with niece and nephew.

Shan as Miss America Chavez.

Izzy as Calvin (with handmade Hobbes).

Emily as Laliari.

Qui with Sam.

Abby with Felix.

Chris E. with the Geeks OUT crew.

This is the line to get into the main theater about 90 minutes before the "Agents of SHIELD" panel (and two hours before the "The Walking Dead" panel). After moving up all of 15 feet in the hour between the "Beauty and the Beast" panel and the start of the Marvel one, we give up and go back upstairs to the show floor.

Glenn/Danny finds a Rick!

Chris A., Mike L., Nick, Gary, Juan, Serge, and a couple show-friends as the Lantern Corps.

I briefly consider coming tomorrow, briefly, early, just because it would be nice to say that I made it to all four days, at least once. Maybe next year. Hey, at least I didn't get sick again two days before the show like I used to every year. I'm glad that curse has finally broken.
