Off to see the Red Bulls (née Metro Stars) vs. Real Salt Lake match at Giants Stadium, Jersey.
Dagfinn and I take the PATH to meet Jim at Exchange Place, then we all take the light rail to the end of the line (Tonnelle Ave.) to be picked up by Ellie (in her dad's Prius). Lloyd meets us later.
Jim's patented two-fisted tailgating.
Juan Pablo Angel ties the game 2-2 on a (beautiful) penalty kick, breaking the club record for most goals in a single season.
The ref makes several...questionable...calls. The weather is beautiful. The match ends in a 2-2 tie.
This guy.
Attacked by gulls in the parking lot afterwards. Scary.
"'Women.' Do you think that's just a big box full of women?"

"And when we're crossed
We can say that we're lost
In the middle of nowhere, think you'll like it a lot.
And if we're wrong and we end up alone
We'll light a candle for their innocent bones.
"You and I have a secret world
And we can keep it unfurled
And pay no attention to the cradle or the grave."
- Roland Orzabal
"Secret World"
Up to the Lower East Side with Johnny to check out Mike Nelson's installation A Psychic Vacuum, at the Old Essex Market at Delancey and Essex. Mere photographs (let alone any that I could take) cannot do this truly epic art piece justice, but here are some anyway.
The installation will be up thru October 28, Friday thru Sunday, noon to 6 P.M. Free.
