I, and I assume many others, always thought that the source of the "Tribute in Light" was the WTC itself; however, the summer that I moved downtown, it became evident to me that this is not the case. This year I am determined to find the actual source of the famous 9/11 lights.

Getting warmer.

Almost there.

Mystery solved: the source of the lights is actually the slightly less-glamourous roof of a parking garage on West St. and W. Thames, about a quarter mile south of World Trade Center actual.

All the same, a beautiful and moving tribute to all those who fell on this day five years ago. Geez, it really has been five years, hasn't it?
