This is amazing. I walk past Greenwich Locksmiths on 7th Ave. at least once a week and never before noticed the crazy mosaic of old keys that covers the entire facade of the store.

It's kind of weird to think about it. Every one of these keys used to belong to a person - to an apartment, to a car, to an office, to a bicycle padlock... Every one of them, a life, a story.

It's just kind of weird, that's all.

So the secret's out. Pizzazz of The Misfits and Jem of Jem and the Holograms were in town this week to record their sexy new charity single, "69". I called in a few favors and was invited to tag along on their video shoot/photo session at Pier 54.

I personally always thought their whole "rivalry" thing was just a trumped-up record company fabrication (at least, exaggeration) for sales and press...but I promise you, it is 100% for real. Though they've gotten together for plenty of "cross-over" singles and charity benefits in the past, as you can see here it does not take long (or much) for them to get right back to their old tricks.

Fortunately for all involved, after a couple hours of stewing...

...they're both able to pull it together in time to finish the shoot...

...and even to end the day as friends...maybe.
