Valentine's Day with the "singles contingent".

A quick drink at Great Lakes in Brooklyn, then it's around the corner to Union Hall.

Table o' burgers.

Fun, low-key night of food, drinks, having a laugh at bad dates (of which we, collectively, have many), exes (of which we, collectively, have many), and hookups (of which we, collectively, have not nearly enough) past.

Special thanks to Bernardo, who invites Tim, Linda, Gail, and me out to see a couple of shows for Fashion Week.

First stop is Bryant Park, to see the Costello Tagliapietra (who are two people) show.

I don't know thing one about fashion, but these chicks are really skinny.

And hey, if Debbie Mazar likes it, it has to be good.

From there, it's down to the Lower East Side to catch the Matt Damhave (who is one person) show.

They keep us waiting for a VERY long time...

...and the show itself is quite short - Linda, Gail, and Tim actually wind up missing the entire thing while standing in line for the bathroom.

So anyway, god bless Bernardo (and Tim!), without whom the majority of my spare time would be spent in dive bars, midtown pubs, or on the couch in front of the TV eating salt and vinegar chips and debating whether or not the dried mangoes from Zeytuna are any better than the ones from the Jubilee Market (Zeytuna's are a bit too fibrous, but are actual slices, as opposed to Jubilee's, which are more like shavings, and are a little too gummy for my tastes. But, Jubilee's don't add nearly as many chemicals as Zeytuna's, if the labels are to be believed. The jury is still out - comments?).

Trivia night at Black & White, East Village.

We wind up in like seventh place.

Congratulations are due to Gab, who has escaped the clutches of Shape magazine.

The get-together is at Pete's Tavern, in Grammercy. Lots of giant, dead, stuffed fish on the walls.

Pete's is an official historic NYC landmark, the longest continuously operating restaurant/bar in the city (est. 1864 - it was disguised as a flower shop during Prohibition). And, O. Henry wrote "Gift of the Magi" here in 1904.

Dagfinn's reaction to the news.

Leveriza's last night in the city. A quick bite at Adrienne's pizza bar on Stone St., then drinks at Fresh Salt.
